This illustration is inspired by a traditional game from West Borneo, Indonesia, called Tabak. Tabak is also known in general by name hopscotch. When I was a child, I used to play this game with my friends. It is a fun game.
I chose to draw the kids' color hair in black or dark brown to represent Indonesian kids. The skin tones were chosen by the characteristic of Indonesian skin colors. Fyi, Indonesian people have various skin tones from light to dark color.
